Exploring Resale Rights, Master Resale
Rights and Private Label Rights
I love resale rights because they are one of the easiest and
quickest ways to generate some fast cash on a consistent
basis.
With resale rights you're buying a ready made product that
comes with a sales letter and graphics already done for you.
There's no part of the product or marketing materials that you
need to create yourself. It's all done for you.
Most resale rights products are digital informational
products. A good resale rights package will provide you with
the product, sales page, order button and instructions for
about $75-$100. You can turn that product around and sell as
many copies as you like. I can easily make ten times the amount
I pay for a resale rights package. It's just an easy way to
generate cash quickly.
Resale rights products however, are not all created the
same, they come with different rights and here are the
differences:
Basic Resale Rights (RR) This gives you
the right to resell a product and keep 100% of the profits, but
your customer does not have the right to resell it to someone
else. Some products simply offer the resale rights
automatically, however others may charge an additional fee for
the resale rights.
Master Resell Rights (MRR)
You have the right to sell the product but you also have the
right to sell the resale rights, which means your customer can
buy the rights to resell it to their customers. You can bundle
the product to sell both the product and resell rights together
or you can sell them separately. This is referring to #2
above.
Private Label Rights (PLR)
With Resale rights and master resale rights packages you cannot
change the content in any way and they generally have some
restrictions on giving the packages away free, there also may
be some pricing restrictions.
Private label rights, on the other hand, are the more
flexible of the bunch. Most PLR comes as a Word or text
document that you can edit any way you like. You can use the
content for creating articles, e-books or reports or for adding
content to your website or blog. In fact with private label
rights, it's preferred that you customize the content or add to
it.
You often see PLR packages sold in the form of article
packs, but there are e-books and guides as well. There are a
number of ways you can use private label rights. You can use
articles to place on your website or blog, you can use the
content in emails or you can combine articles to create larger
PDF documents, e-books or courses.
Usually with private label content there are a limited
number sold, this maintains the integrity of the content,
especially for those that use it right out of the box, however
private label rights are much better utilized by customizing
the content. Most PLR content will advise against using it
right out of the box and prohibits you from placing your name
on it without extensive customization.
Here is a selection of
PLR content sources I use
Benefits of Starting a Resale Rights Business
1. You keep 100% of the profits. You pay
an up front fee to purchase the product and the resale rights,
however you keep 100% of the profit for every sale you make to
your customers.
2. You can also earn residual income
Some resell rights products will allow you to customize the
product by adding your own affiliate links allowing you to earn
back-end income. Not all products allow this and you must check
with the product creator on branding rights.
3. Resell rights is more appealing than affiliate
marketing I love affiliate marketing but most
online marketers find resell rights more appealing because the
ability to keep 100% of the profits, unlike affiliate programs
where you will only receive a percentage of the profits.
Uses for Resale Rights
Products
1. Bundle them and use them as one big package that you can
sell.
By creating both broad based and specific packages
you can have more products and appeal to a larger audience. Try
advertising your packages with pay-per-click and ezine
advertising which works quite well since both are quite
targeted.
Another great way to sell your bundle is to visit forums and
make special offers. The Warriorforum
is a great start.
2. Use Them as bonuses for your own products
You can find eBooks, videos or audios and use them a bonuses
for your own products, or you could use them as a complement
your website.
3. Use them as special gifts for your customers or email
list
People love getting useful, meaningful free gifts. Giving
resale rights products as gifts is a great way to build trust
and build relationships.
Making Money with Resale Rights
If you want to get started quickly with resale rights, there
are plenty of opportunities that you can research through
Google.
My best advice is not to locate just any product that looks
good. Examine the product carefully and make sure it's a
quality product. Also make sure the product comes
with a well put together sales page, a poor sales page will
limit the amount of sales you will make. For a quick start
here's a free course on Resale rights by Liz Tomey called
"Resale Rights for Newbies". It's a great
foundation for getting you started on finding, selling and
promoting resale rights programs.
