Promote Your Website
Lesson #10
Creating a
website and publishing it on the web won't bring you traffic alone, you'll need to promote your
website.
But one of the beautiful things about the web is that some of the
best promotion strategies are still free and they're still effective.
The First Step to Promoting Your Website
Before you even get to promoting your site you'll need to write copy that's worth
promoting.
I hate to sound like a broken record but effective writing and copywriting are key to building a good
foundation for getting the right visitors, getting traffic and building one way backlinks, so please don't
ignore that step :-)
Daily, Weekly & Monthly Website Promotion Strategies
The following are my favorite promotion strategies. I use these methods more
than any others and have had the best success with all three of them.
- Social
media and Networking has made promoting your website so much easier by
providing social sites and tools that help you more effectively expand your reach.
Social media applications like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn for example, will
help you build your brand, your expertise and generating a following.
Start by creating comprehensive profiles on both Twitter and Facebook and spend
about 10-15 minutes each day making friends, interacting and growing your network.
You can move to other social marketing sites later on but Twitter and FB have
the floor in popularity at the moment so they're a good starting point.
Once you've gathered a loyal following, you'll be able to promote your writing,
products and ideas building trust and demonstrating your expertise to people that have an interest in what you are
about.
In fact here are 8 tips for promoting and getting traffic with
social media.
- Promote your website by writing
articles. Article
marketing is still a
powerful resource for doubling your traffic because
you're creating one way backlinks to your website.
- Email marketing is one of my favorite forms of promotion. I like it because it can be a passive form
of promotion.
Collecting subscribers is much either than you may think and once you begin
building a list you can write emails on the fly or create an autoresponder that you can load with pre-written
emails that go out automatically. That's where it becomes passive, which is
what I love.
- Guest Posting -
Guest Blog Posting on blogs means more
traffic and it's an awesome way to expand your reach across the web.
It's also a welcomed way to promote because all bloggers need content and they
almost always jump at the chance to have someone guest post. It saves them time and they get great
content.
But the biggest benefit for you is that you're getting the chance to promote your
site and your business.
Congratulations ! You've reached the end of the
tutorial.
