You understand the value of advertising your business, right? Then, you would appreciate a resource that doubles your advertising response.  Pay per click search engine advertising does just that.

In my opinion, it is the most effective advertising available on the internet.  It lets you begin getting web site exposure immediately allowing you to making sales quickly.

How Pay Per Click ( PPC ) Advertising works

Once you have established the keywords that best describe your site, you can bid on those keywords. Some PPC search engines allow as little as .01 bids per keyword. Therefore anyone typing in your keyword into the search engine will find your ad, the more you bid, the higher the placement of your ad. 
 
What you need to make Pay Per Click Advertising Work:

Good keywords - You need to find keywords that have high usage but don't have high bidding competition, specifically niche keywords.  Use keyword phrases as opposed to general one word keywords and be specific to what your site is about.

Well written ads that attract - Your ads must attract clicks and be relevant to what your site is about. The first rule of thumb in any advertising is to grab their attention. This doesn't mean be flashy or intrusive, simply use words that get attention. Pay per click advertising doesn't give you much space to write huge  descriptions and advertisers like Google limit how hyped up your ad can
be.  Considering these restrictions, here a few suggestions:

Address a problem and suggest a solution
Ask a question, Do you want to save time?  Are you looking for savings? Need to lose weight?

Use attention grabbing words and phrases.
Money back guarantee, free shipping, Boost, exciting, breakthrough, profit, time is now, etc. Be specific, get to the point.

Address a problem, offer a solution
Your add should point out benefits.  Things like, free shipping, fast weight loss, time saver, save money, earn money, etc.

Good website - Your site should be of interest and well organized. Getting clicks is of no value to you if people come to your site and leave because they couldn't find what they were looking for.

How to be Profitable with Pay Per Click Advertising

You can be extremely profitable with PPC advertising and do it a lot faster, but if you don't do your homework it can drain your bank account in a hurry, for this reason it's important to understand your sales ratio which will help you determine how much to bid.

For example, let's say that for every sale you make you get $20. Let's also say that for about every 100 visitors you make 1 sale. If you do the math it looks like this:

                             .01 x $20 = .20

This means that you should bid .20 or less for your keywords to be profitable. Of course, your goal is to bid as little as possible. This formula is a guide for what your 'maximum' bid should be.

Be sure to monitor your pay per click listings daily. This is important  in  maintain your rankings. If a competitor agrees to pay more per click than you currently pay for your sponsored spot, your spot will be given to them. Therefore you'll have to decide if you want to bid more or bid on other keywords.


PPC TIP:  When advertising on ppc search engines I highly recommend advertising specific pages of your site.  It's not always wise to send people to your home page as it often requires them to go hunting for what they are looking for.  For example if you have a viewer looking for dog food and your advertisement sends them to your home page they are now required to search your site for dog food. If you specifically advertise your dog food page, you save your viewer the trouble and a possible click off your page

A word about Google Adwords (PPC)

As you probably already know, Google Adwords is by far the most popular pay per click advertiser on the net. That's because Google has the largest share of internet users.
