Twitter - It's growing on me!

For the past week I've been getting more twitter follows than sign-ups for my newsletter. So what do I make of that?

First of all Twitter is gaining in popularly. There's hardly a blog or website I go to that doesn't have a Twitter icon on it, so I think most people are testing the waters and Twitter is a great place to do that. Why not find out about someone first on Twitter?

But I will admit that sometimes I struggle with my tweets. I could tweet about my morning coffee or what my kids are doing but I find myself thinking "who would care?"

Well I'm finding out that people DO care. If you really think about what Twitter does, it makes sense. Twitter is helping others get to know more about you and your personality one tweet at a time. Little snippets of conversation and comments really do tell others a lot about you.

People like to know about what you're doing, your struggles, accomplishments or just 'ah ha' moments. They also want to know you are not perfect or have struggles — put a little of your vulnerability out there and people will listen. If they come to find out they actually do like you they will crave more and more of you …but put an advertisement out there and they'll be gone

There are lots of creative and interesting folks out there and I'm having a great time learning about them. But I also enjoy that others can learn about more of me than just what I write about on my site or blog.
