While drinking my morning coffee and making my internet rounds, I came across a blog that caught my attention. It's called authorityrules.com and features a free PDF guide by the same name. I downloaded the guide, no sign-up required or anything like that, just a simple mouse click and I began reading.
The guide is only 18 pages long and took just a few minutes to read but I couldn't help but notice it contains some very powerful yet down to earth truths concerning the power of authority and why you need that if you're going to be effective at online marketing.
This caught my attention particularly because the guide demonstrates the very things that are so overlooked by internet marketers, particularly newbies looking to start an internet business. I realized a long time ago the importance of establishing authority and it's not always as easy as it looks. It takes time, a willingness to keep learning and lots of interaction with others.
Brian Clark is the author of Authorityrules but he's also the founder and creator of Copyblogger so Brian knows a thing or two about blogging and internet marketing and how to be successful at it, I guess you could say he's an authority
Brian does a great job at helping us realize the real power in authority and how it can help us build trust and respect, and without those things you're not likely to go very far. Additionally, you can't simply tell people you're an authority others have to say it as well. To quote a line in the guide, "What other people say about you is more important than what you say about yourself".
The guide not only demonstrates the importance of attaining and demonstrating authority, it goes through the rules for how to create a website that will achieve recognized authority from both people and the search engines.
Bottom line? You'll learn how to cash in with authority.
