WordPress is a great blogging platform but don't poke around and try to get creative when you don't know what you are doing.  It can mean disaster. which is exactly what happened to me!

I'm not exactly new to blogging and creating websites but you know what they say,

   "You can know enough just enough to be dangerous" …and I was!

About two weeks ago I decided to get creative; I wanted to add a search box to my blog.  Now if you do a search on 'Wordpress plug-ins' there are a ton of search box options. 

Did I use one of them?  Noooo, I had to get creative – BAD IDEA.   I put in some crazy code into my text box and boom, it went south!

Suffice it to say I called my trusty blog expert Loretta over at EasyWahmWebsites and she worked hard to figure out what I'd done but I know from my past life experiences, it can be like trying to find a needle in a haystack, no one needs that kind of aggravation or do they have the time.  

So it was time for help from my host, Hostgator, who by the way, I have to commend, they took one look and fixed it within about 15 minutes.  I lost a few side bar widgets but a small price to pay for getting back up and running. 

The moral of the story is if you're not sure how to make a change, call an expert, but even before that, make sure you have a good host like Hostgator

BTW, anyone have a recommendation on a search box plug-in?  There are just too many to pick from.
