Guest blogging is big within the blogging community, probably because the number one benefit is one way linking.  One way links for example, are the best way to help your blog gain search engine ranking, gain additional exposure and expend your marketing reach.  

One of the things that brought my attention to guest blogging was this past summer when Nicole Dean did her summer blog world tour.  If you followed Nicole's blog tour you probably noticed it was an ambitious one. Nicole puts you in contact with some great resources for organizing your blog tour all the way down to creating your calendar, finding blogs and creating spreadsheets.  Also, contacting blog owners requires a special touch, remember this has to be something that offers benefit for the Blogger and Nicole shows you how to present this to them so they benefit as well.
