Affiliate Marketing: Where To Start

I've been an affiliate marketer throughout most of my online career and I've done pretty well at it, but that's not been the case for a lot of people.  In fact many have failed so miserably at it that they have thrown in the towel and flat out given up.

Affiliate marketing isn't hard; in fact the hardest part is often just knowing where to start. For example, people sometimes make the mistake of building a website first without having given enough thought to finding a profitable niche, or they might have a profitable niche but don’t know how to effectively promote it.

Whatever it is that keeps folks from being profitable, affiliate marketing, like any other business model, requires starting with a profitable idea and understanding how to implement the strategies that make the most money.

But for many people it's even more basic than that. They simply just don’t know where to start. They sign up for newsletters, listen to multiple experts or worse yet, they take a shot in the dark and worry about where they land later.

That’s a tough way to do anything Frown  [Read more...]

Start Your Own Affiliate Program for More Traffic & Sales

If you have your own products or services that you sell online and you're looking for ways to increase traffic and sales it might be time to start your own affiliate program.

Having your own affiliate program is about getting others to promote your products for you. It's an ideal marketing method simply because it doesn't cost you money until you make money. In other words, your affiliates don't get paid unless they make a sale, but they will be motivated to make as many sales as possible because you will be paying them a percentage of each sale they make.  You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours :-)

Even though you are sharing your profits with your affiliates, the benefits are increased traffic and sales. Think of it this way, you may be sharing your initial profits but you will be selling a lot more.

Here's an example of how this works: [Read more...]

Affiliate Marketing “Cheat Sheet”

I've just been reading Andy Jenkins' post on the Affiliate Marketing Cheat Sheet'

The timing is perfect on this because it backs up my post from last time on making money with affiliate marketing

Andy's Cheat Sheet offers some excellent advice about creating loyal customers that buy, but it also stresses what I said about not promoting junk and how critical that is to your affiliate promotion strategy.  Andy starts out by saying 'Buy and Use the Product' and he lists out how to evaluate products.

This is extremely valuable information for being successful at affiliate marketing. These are not only the things that will help you make the most sales; they build trust among your viewers. But also, if you can do the product evaluation 'leg work' for your readers they save time and effort, who doesn't want that?

However, in my opinion owning a product yourself gives you an edge for promoting it.  You're in a much better position to demonstrate to your viewers the quality and benefits of a product because you can really feel it first hand.

A comment posted by Igor on Andy's post said it very well:

"I can relate to what you are saying,
because as an affiliate internet marketer,
I do feel proud and more confident whenever
I promote something I have personally used."

Make Money with Affiliate Marketing

Part 2 of the Jimmy D. Brown Series – Ten Ways To Make Money Online

The second way Jimmy's free report talks about making money is with affiliate marketing.

The affiliate marketing business model can be used to promote all kinds of products and services, however for making the most money, Jimmy suggests promoting digital products through the use of a squeeze page.

He likes this method because digital products typically pay more in commissions.  Commissions on things like ebooks, ecourses or online videos, can be as much as 70% or more, even 100% commissions, and it's worth noting that digital products sell very well online.  [Read more...]
