I don’t have a career in Psychology today but one thing I can say for sure, it has taught me how to positively shape how I think in both my practical and business life.
Creating a successful blog or building a business is an awesome but challenging experience. You bloggers out there know what I mean.
You can wake up excited and refreshed to start your day and go to bed feeling overwhelmed and frustrated.
What I’ve learned over the years is that the key to success in anything you do is to maintain a positive, yes you can do it, mind success strategy.
Here’s what I mean…
I have a little confession to make.
When I first stated blogging I was overwhelmed with all the stuff I had to do. I was also frustrated with all those successful bloggers and online business owners that had ALL day to blog, tweet, FB and connect online. You know the ones I mean, they have no family, kids or outside commitments.
I remember thinking, “Sure you’re successful because you have nothing else to do!” At the time I had a full time job, kids and a husband to care for and I found very little time to tend to my blog.
Today I realize that was really misplaced judgement. There are lots of people who work full time jobs, have a family, kids and outside responsibilities yet have a thriving blog or online business.
The truth is it’s not what you have going on in your life with family, job or whatever, it’s YOU and your MINDSET!
Dr. Wayne Dyer wrote a book awhile back that I loved called “Change your thoughts – change your life“. Believe it or not, there are amazing achievements that have come out of that mind set strategy.
Of course Dr. Dyer isn’t the first to come up with that idea. The idea of changing your thinking dates back to cultures and writings since early civilizations and is rooted in who we are.
” If you doubt you can do something you won’t be able to do it. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.”
So how do you put your mind in the mode for success?
Change your mind!
That may not seem simple but really, it IS.
To prove it, these are 5 SIMPLE mindset strategies to help you create and sustain a mindset that will help you attain the success you desire.
5 Mind Success Strategies for Blogging & Business Success
1. Surround yourself with successful Bloggers.
It’s amazing how other people have an influence over our own personal energy. Moods and attitudes are contagious.
When a stranger compliments you or gives you a glowing smile, how does that make you feel? How does that change your day?
Or how about when someone helps you do something you didn’t think you could do and it leads to a positive outcome. How does that make you feel?
When you surround yourself with successful bloggers and successful people in general who inspire you, believe in you, and encourage you to succeed, there’s no room for doubt or despair.
Even when doubt creeps in, if there’s positive influence around you it will be quickly swept away.
2. Create an affirmation for Yourself
Affirmations don’t mean ‘fake it til’ you make it“. Those aren’t mind success strategies, those are just an act.
Positive affirmations help you change your thinking and that change of thought has proven to help people truly believe in what they’re saying and doing. It’s about holding a vision that you know can be true. If you can see it in your mind you can create it.
For example, repeat to yourself as often as you can, “I am building a powerful and profitable blog.”
To find the right affirmations for you, consider writing a quick list of your doubts, insecurities and complaints. Then turn these into affirmations that you repeat to yourself several times a day. For instance, if one of your doubts or insecurities in being disorganized then your affirmation might be, “I am organized and in control.”
Repeat that affirmation throughout the a day and feel the power of positive thinking. If it’s constantly on your mind you’ll begin to do things that get your organized. Think it and you’ll do it.
Experts say that it takes about 3 weeks of repetition for an affirmation to take hold, so make a conscious effort to keep your affirmation going for at least a month. After that time you won’t need to make the effort, it will simply become what you believe.
3. Catch negative thoughts immediately.
We all have negative thoughts from time to time, but negative thoughts can’t hurt us if we catch them and stop them in their tracks as soon as we have them.
Of course catching those negative thoughts does take practice and persistence. When you find yourself thinking negative thoughts or having negative emotions, find a trigger to turn them around.
Use the affirmations above as a way to turn the negative into the positive. You can also find quick pick me ups like a favorite song, a walk outside, or your favorite exercise to improve your thoughts and your mood.
4. Set goals for your blog then let go.
We hear a lot about the law of attraction, I won’t go into the specifics here but suffice it to say that we attract what we focus on the most. So if we’re desperate and fearful for something, like generating an income or creating a successful business , we get mixed signals. That’s when negativity creeps in because fear and desperation lead to negativity.
Set your goals and intentions for your blog or business and then let them go. A certain amount of faith in yourself and in the power of attraction is necessary. Give it a try.
5. Have a Consistent Attitude of Gratitude.
This is in my opinion the most powerful of all the mind success strategies. When you’re grateful for all of the wonderful things and people in your life, the challenges you face seem significantly less important and are more easily dealt with.
I actually keep a gratitude journal. I never did that until a personal friend of mine suggested it and I’ve found it so rewarding. When I’m facing challenges a quick peek at all the amazing things in my life always make me feel as if I can tackle anything.
But what’s even better is that a consistent attitude of gratitude helps you maintain a positive perspective helping you face challenges as opportunities rather than obstacles.
Your success is within reach and with the right attitude you can accomplish anything you set your sights on.
You might be shaking your head with doubts about all this but let me just say that if you honestly and completely embrace and practice these five powerful mind success strategies you can’t help but find success in your life and business or at least improve them.
