Do I ever use PLR directly out of the box – NEVER! Knowing how to use private label rights is key.
Using PLR for me simply makes the process of getting started easier. It offers me a succinct outline to help get my thoughts down on paper. Using PLR right out of the box isn’t comprehensive content so it’s imperative that you customize it with your knowledge.
Issues to be aware of When Using Private label rights Products
In the case of PLR products, they come with a squeeze page, sales letter and promotional emails. With most of the writing already done, set up can literally take a day or two at the most.
However if you’ve used PLR in the past you may have noticed that there are a few issues with using it. For example:
#1 You can’t readily tell what you are getting with your PLR purchase. Some PLR sites make it less than easy to know exactly what you’re getting, particularly with PLR articles. It’s almost impossible to be sure if the content will meet your quality standards or include information that you consider important.
A good, quality PLR site will offer a money back guarantee ( BTW never buy without a guarantee) but why deal with the aggravation?
#2 There’s a lot of junk. I know that because I’ve purchased it. There are several PLR sites with dull, uninteresting content that’s simply a rewrite of what’s already out there.
#3 PLR subscription sites don’t provide enough of the content I need. Have you ever subscribed to a PLR site and initially received content for your specific niche but as time went on you ended up having to wait three or four months before you get the content you need again? Not ideal

A business owner shouldn’t have to deal with these issues but finding PLR content sites worth their salt isn’t always easy. I have my own favorites but finding comparison charts can help you know how a site measures up, more on that in a minute.

Hey.. I played around with PLR in my early days and found that it can be a really great business model if you take the PLR content, convert it to video, audio and make it your own.
I would use it for article marketing, but not for my own blog, though. I like writing my own content.. :0)

Hey Hector, You MUST customize PLR. Using it straight out of the box is a waste of time. PLR gives me ideas and sort of a baseline to start with. From there I rewrite it to reflect my own ideas and writing style. I don’t use PLR all the time, but it’s extremely handy for those times you need to get some great content out quickly.

I have looked into PLR content but not near as in depth as you are explaining ( you could say I have scratched the surface – maybe). I have always like to write my own articles and submit them to sites myself, while these have may not all generated the great traffic I was hoping, I know that the content is mine from start to finish.

Being in the internet marketing arena in addition to operating an eCommerce site that deals specifically with resell rights products, I am constantly suggesting to my client base that they take PLR products and rewrite the content and add additional value to the product. As you have indicated it is a must to do, otherwise you’ll be competing with the same product on numerous websites.

Hey Liz great information on PLR, I have too have dabbled in PLR some in my past. I also I found was the quality of the products really needs to be scrutinized. As you said there is a lot of Junk out there.
