One instant traffic generation method that works well for me is blog commenting.

Unfortunately, the downside to blog commenting is that it’s boring and tedious trying to find related authority blog posts to comment on.

So let me share a really easy way I use to find relevant, authority blog posts that I can comment on every day without the stress of having to find these targeted, authority blogs on my own.

I use Google alerts to find blog posts to comment on.  But for me, my success with Google alerts may be how I set them up, which I’ll get to in a minute.  But the real advantage to getting these alerts is that Google notifies me immediately every time a new blog post related to my keywords gets published.  That saves me a ton of time; which is my goal.

Secondly, if you comment right away on a newly published blog post, your comments have a better chance of being seen as they’ll be near the top of the comments list. For blogs that get lots of comments, being at the top is a good thing.

Since implementing  this strategy myself I’ve seen a substantial increase of visitors to my blog which is instant traffic generation at its best.

Setting up Google Alerts is super simple.  You’ll need to create a Google account which is easy and free, then just go to Google.com/alerts.  The screen will look like this.

Just enter your keyword phrase. These will be the main keywords of the posts you’re interested in commenting on.

I choose once a day to be alerted of posts, with this option I’ll get several alerts each day that I can comment on.  Over the course of even a few days I can get several blog comments created.  This works to my benefit for backlinks as well as getting my comments seen.

I also choose the option ‘only the best results’.  This returns the most authoritative blogs, which is what I want since finding these blogs is the hardest part of blog commenting.

Now click ‘create alert’ and that’s it.  You’ll almost instantly start receiving blog posts alerts in your email.

You can do this for as many keyword phrases as you like. You might try creating several keyword alerts just to make sure you get a good amount of posts to comment on.

Making your blog comments count for Instant Traffic Generation

You’ve heart this before but it’s worth repeating. Keep your blog comments informative, interesting, and related to the post you’re commenting on. The more value a reader gets from reading your comment the better your chances of getting them to visit your site.

Remember, comments can bring you quality back links but they are also a great source of human traffic as well.   The idea is to impress readers so they want to visit your site.

Once you start getting your Google alerts in your email, take a few minutes each the day to start commenting.  I like to do this first thing in the morning, that’s when I do my best work, but doing this at the end of the day is OK too.   Do whatever works for you, but schedule in a few minutes each day to get this done.

The beauty of Google alerts is that the notifications come to your email, so they’re there ready for you to comment on. That makes this strategy a lot easier and it’s a great reminder each day as well.

#1 Social media. If you use social media sites, and you should, you stand to generate lot of traffic to your website quickly. The trick here is to create attention grabbing posts that create curiosity.  Then include content that will make people laugh or even stir up a little controversy. These are the things that get people to bookmark, pingback or even tweet about. 

Use social marketing tools and also their associated technology to get the job done. Just one StumbleUpon post for example; can be integrated with both Facebook and Twitter profiles, the advantage there is that you'll be hitting the air waves quickly on all three social sites at once.

In other words it's not enough to just crank out mediocre articles and include your site link in the resource box, it certainly helps to do that, but if you want to get even more traffic fast, you must have an article title that compels, a body that delivers what readers want to read and a resource box that gets the click.

#3 Video content. You'd be amazed at how quickly a video can go viral. Because videos are so easy to watch they often grab more attention than printed content, and if your video can once again, stir up controversy, entertain and offer value, you've got a winner.

If you have a website and can't generate more than about 100 visitors a day, follow these 9 steps to increase website traffic and you'll begin to see, in just a few weeks, an increase in your site visitors.

Step 1. Target the right keywords

Each time you create a web page, optimize that page for the keywords that not only accurately describe that specific page but are also keyword phrases that people enter into the search engines. Finding the right keywords is what will set the stage for the rest of your webpage optimization.

There are many keyword tools you can use, I happen to like Wordtracker but it's whatever you feel comfortable using. Stay away from single keywords, focus on the long tail keywords, these are the keywords that will be more closely targeted to what your visitors are looking for. 

Step 2. Name your pages appropriately

Name your pages using your best keyword phrase. If you have a page that uses the keyword phrase 'vegetarian weight loss' for example, then use that phrase in the title of your page and separate the words with hyphens. For instance your page name might look like this:

www.yoursite.com/vegetarian-weight-loss.html/

It just so happens that 'vegetarian weight loss' is a also a keyword phrase that people use to search for vegetarian weight loss diets, so this would be a wise move. 

Don't be afraid to use long tail keywords. You don't want it extremely long but it should contain your best and most targeted keyword phrase.

Step 3. Use a Descriptive title tag for every page

Once again, use your best keyword phrase in the title tag. Using our example above, your title tag would be 'vegetarian weight loss'.  

Step 4. Use a description tag that describes your page

Your description tag should also contain your best keyword phrase but it should be more descriptive as to what the page is about.  For example, your description tag might say something like 'A vegetarian weight loss diet that guarantees fast weight loss. 

Step 5.  Include relevant, Informative and Unique Content on your page

Keep your page's content focused, straying off topic confuses readers as well as the search engines.  If you want to reference a sub-topic, use text links to take the reader to other pages that discuss those topics.Present your content it in a way that holds your reader's attention. 

I like to keep the who, what, where, when, how and why questions in mind when I write. It helps when trying to provide content that will inform and benefit.Unique and original content is what readers are interested in. Keep your content unique and interesting with personal tips, ideas and experiences.  Complement your writing with a little humor and character. 

And write conversationally making it unique to your personality.  This will compel you readers to continue reading instead of hitting the back button.  

Step 6. Use Headlines that are descriptive throughout your content

Your headlines will go in the body of your text.  For example, our vegetarian weight loss page will have that phrase as the main headline, then for each section of the page we may have sub headlines that are:

<h1>Vegetarian weight loss tips</h1> with the number in the tags corresponding with the size of the font).

<h2> The benefits of vegetarian weight loss </h2>
    
Step 7.  Use ALT tags for your graphics

Use your page’s keyword phrase in your graphics alt tag as well.  Search engines can't read graphics so using an alt tag with your graphics gives them one more piece of information about your page and every little bit helps.

Don't use too many graphics and don't stuff them with keywords, the search engines won't like it, however, put your main keyword in the alt text of one graphic if you have one.

Here's an example of an alt img tag:

Step 8.  Keep your website easy to navigate

A website that is confusing or hard to navigate will frustrate a visitor and they will leave. So before you even begin building your site map out your topics and categories carefully. Once again a good keyword research tool can help. 

For example, if I type in vegetarian weight loss into the Wordtracker keyword tool, it tells me that people interested in vegetarian weight loss also want to know about:

• vegetarian weight loss meal plans
• muscle building on vegetarian diets
• high protein vegetarian diets
• low carb vegetarian diets
• healthy vegetarian diets
• benefits of a vegetarian diets
  …etc.

Those would be the things you would want to include in your website navigation. 

Be sure to include navigation from every page of your website. 

Step 9. Get High Quality Backlinks

It's no secret that without quality backlinks your site will be virtually unknown to the rest of the web community. That means no website traffic and no sales.  Getting high value backlinks will increase your visibility and impress the search engines. 

Writing articles and commenting on blogs and forums are excellent ways to generate quality backlinks. However Keep your inbound links coming from a variety of authority sources, directories and websites. 

So there you have it, my 9 steps to increase website traffic. Make it a habit to follow these steps for every page of your website and I'm confident that within just a few weeks time, you'll see more traffic.

There are lots of ways to increase website traffic, there are tons of traffic secrets and free website traffic strategies that anyone can use, things like using articles, email marketing, website optimization, press releases, social interaction.   

The problem with getting increased website traffic is there are more options than we can implement so as with anything online the name of the game is to test. Try as many strategies as you can and determine which ones work the best for you.  Use it until it no longer works, and then try something else.

But what if someone just starting out were to ask you what the best way was to get more targeted website traffic to their site when they are getting no traffic at all — what would you say?

I know this would probably depend on your application and perhaps the type of person you are. For example, if you are great in front of a camera you probably use video, if you are sort of a social butterfly you probably use social marketing and get great response.  Articles might do the trick if you’re a writer.  If you have a budget you might say that pay-per-click advertising worked well.   But on the other hand, maybe you’ve tried just about every website traffic generation method you could think of and still haven’t seen the kind of traffic you need.

3.  Articles will create back links to your website improving your website’s popularity and ranking.  Writing high quality articles of interest improves your chances of others reprinting your articles on their sites, blogs or newsletters.  Each time your article is published by someone else you receive another backlink to your website.  Each backlink is a vote for your website which improves your standing with the search engines.  

4.  Articles are affordable.   You can write your own articles or you can hire a ghostwriter. Either way it’s an extremely cheap form of website promotion. You can manually submit your articles or you can use software to automatically submit your article to many directories. 

5. Articles build trust and promote you as an authority.  If you can provide a potential customer with good solid information, be interesting, genuine and help them recognize that you know what you're talking about, they'll be interested in what you have to offer. They may not immediately buy but they will remember you as someone who is in the know, and that's a crucial part of building trust, which we all know is an important element of making sales online.  Places like Sears, Walmart and Target have already built their trust and if you hope to be just half as successful you're going to have to prove your trustworthiness as well.  

There’s no shortage of benefits when it comes to article marketing. They build trust, traffic, backlinks and they're inexpensive. Most webmasters will tell you they are clearly one of the best ways to help your site find favor not only with the search engines but with humans interested in finding information.  

Remember …if you can keep your readers interested chances are the search engines will be interested as well.

We all want to generate high volumes of web site traffic but don’t forget that while lots of traffic can mean lots of sales it won’t mean a thing if you’re not getting traffic that is targeted to what your site is really about.

Targeted Web Site Traffic means attracting visitors who are most interested in what you have to offer. For example, attracting a visitor to your running shoes site won’t generate any sales for you if (s)he is looking for penny loafers.

In other words, 100 targeted visitors are worth much more than 1000 non targeted visitors.

If you want to actually find the traffic that needs precisely what you have to offer, follow these 8 proven ways to get the most free targeted web traffic … 
1. Start with unique content on your website
Search engine robots spider websites on a regular basis but they are most attracted to the sites with fresh, original content. Therefore, refreshing your content on a regular basis and keeping it original will increase your ranking which means you you’ll be on your way to that much more traffic.

2. Use Relevant high traffic keywords
In addition to #1, be sure to use relevant keywords and keyword phrases on each page of your website.

When creating keywords for a specific page first determine what the page is primarily about.  Then use a keyword tool like Wordtracker to determine what relevant keywords or phrases you should use for that page. Select keyword phrases that get lots of daily searches but are also relevant to the page.

Once you settle on the keywords to use, include those key phrases in your page’s title, description and keywords tags.  Then use them in the first and last paragraphs of your page’s content.  Don’t be tempted to over use your keywords, instead use synonyms or varying types of the words, for example walk, walker, walking, walks, walked.

3. Create Internal linking within your site
Create text links for each page of your site using the page’s keyword or keyword phrase and include those text links on other relevant pages of your website.  Because the search engines rank pages and not sites, internal linking counts as votes for a page so cross-linking your pages within your site is good practice.

4. Submit Your site to the Search Engines
Submitting to the search engines is a time consuming task but it’s an important one.  You can submit your site to as many search engines as you like, however my advice is simply start with Google.  Since many search engines mimic what Google does, getting on Google first offers a big head start.

Start with the Google Webmaster Guidelines and then submit your site for free.

5. Exchange links with other like web sites
Exchange some website links with websites that have good search engine ranking. Once you find a site check them out on Alexa.com.  If you like their rankings send them an email to exchange links with your site.  Be sure to provide them with a text link that not only adequately describes your website but also conveys a compelling message that encourages people who see the link to click on to your site.

6. List your website with Relevant Directories
Find directories that relate you your website’s niche and submit to them.  For example, if your website is about selling products or services that relate to making money online, get your website listed under the relevant category.  Note that selecting the wrong category can mean a delay for your listing.

7.  Promote your website in relevant forums and online groups
Find relevant forums or online groups where your potential customers might be lurking.  Once your find 3 or 4 forums subscribe to them and begin participating in discussions or answer questions that people may have about your niche.  When you subscribe be sure to set up your signature file which will allow you to place your website link within it.   Every time you make a comment on the forum your website link will be included.  This will bring targeted traffic to your site.

 8. Write an article
Articles are one of the best ways to generate traffic and with this method they won’t take long.  You can write your own article or simply find good Private label rights articles so that you can formulate into your own articles.  Don’t submit a PLR article as is. Always reword the article by adding content and reworking it so that it becomes your own unique article.  If that’s not an option, have an article written for you.  A ghostwriter is an excellent way to get a good article that you can call your own.

Make sure you include a good resource box that directs readers back to your site.  This is also an excellent way to get viewers to sign up for your newsletter or get on your opt-in mailing list.

Next submit the article to the following article banks.  There are tons of article directories but these are a few of the top article directories and will get you noticed much quicker.
