Toms Shoes – Business That Inspires

It was my daughter's birthday last week and she wanted a pair of shoes; not just any shoes, a pair of Toms shoes'.

If you've never heard of Toms, they not only have cool shoes, the company was founded on an idea that would provide shoes for needy children around the world.

So I placed my daughter's shoe order at Toms and shortly afterward I happened to check my mailbox which had the latest Costco magazine in it. I had to chuckle because whose picture was on the front cover but Blake Mycoskie, the owner and founder of Toms Shoes!

Costco was featuring an interview they did with Blake about his extremely successful Toms shoe store. I was already fairly familiar with Blake, his business and his cause, but as I read the interview, I learned even more about Blake, his business and his lifestyle -  it was inspiring. [Read more...]

Can You Really Make Money with an Online Business?

People like the idea of making money with an online business but they're skeptical, and they should be.  But the real skeptics are those that have tried and weren't successful.

From my experience as an online businesses owner I see failure because people often perceive making money online as being easy and without having to spend much money. For the most part, that's true, but most people who jump online to start an internet business don't totally understand what it really takes to be successful online.

Of course, obviously there are thousands of offline businesses that are successful.

But just as research, hard work, confidence, persistence and being goal oriented are important for an offline business owner those things are just as important for making money with an online business, but you're not likely to find an online business that will replace your current income in a few weeks time, that costs you only a few dollars and requires little to no effort.

You couldn't find that offline, why would it be possible online? [Read more...]

Building Self Esteem and Confidence with Positive Self-Talk

If this sounds familiar, you need to change the way you respond to your inner dialogue. That means instead of obeying your negative commands, you should be building self esteem and confidence by using positive self-talk to counter the negativity and overcome those self-defeating, destructive thoughts. Are You Afraid to Start Your Internet Home Business?

One of my readers wrote me recently with a common problem that so many folks have when it comes to starting their internet home business, the problem is fear.  Here's what one of my readers wrote me…

"Hi Ms. Liz,

I'm so concerned with making a time commitment I end up being unable to get started or I worry about getting ripped off that it’s keeping me from moving forward.  I check your site constantly and get all motivated and then I chicken out."

It's not unusual to be afraid of starting your own internet business.  It can be hard taking that first step, but you will find that by making the commitment and taking action things will happen fast.  But you have to take action.  [Read more...]
