Making money online doesn't necessarily mean you need to have a website. Most internet business experts will tell you a website is a good idea, however if you're just getting your feet wet or want to make some quick cash here's one profitable idea that always works for me …
Find an affiliate product that you would like to sell that offers a fairly good commission, at least 10% of every sale. Your best option is to find products on affiliate networks such as Commission Junction, Linkshare or Clickbank.
You will first need to sign up with each of these networks, sign up is free. When approved you will receive an affiliate link which is the link you will promote. If you don't get approval, don't worry, there are plenty of programs to choose from. I would highly suggest starting with ClickBank as their products have the highest payouts and it's easier to get accepted.
Next, you will need to register a domain name. Once you register a domain name you will need to redirect it to your affiliate link. I like to use Godaddy because they will redirect your domain name for free.
When selecting a domain name try to make sure the name contains the keywords of the product you are promoting, For example if you will be promoting a "how to play guitar" course, look for a domain name that includes the words 'how to play guitar' like how-to-play-guitar.com. If the domain name is already taken, you can find similar names such as 'how-to-play-guitar-site.com or 'how-to play-guitar-today.com, etc. I think you get the idea.
Once you have selected an affiliate product, received your affiliate link and redirected your domain name, now it's time to promote.
There are many free options for promoting your products online but the easiest and most effective way is writing articles.
Simply write an article about the product you are promoting such as a product review or any type of article that will generate interest. At the end of your article will be your resource box which will contain your redirected domain name. Viewers that find your article interesting and informative will most likely click on the link and hopefully make a purchase.
What makes this strategy work will be your ability to write articles that compel a reader to click on the link in your resource box. This means that your article cannot be 'salesy' or sound like a commercial.
I personally have a lot of success writing articles that tell a personal story. That way you engage the reader and allow them to draw their own conclusions about what they should do.
For example, if you want to actually sell the 'how to play guitar" course mentioned above you might write an article on how an online course either helped you or someone you know learn the guitar. Demonstrate how an online course benefits someone trying to learn.
Once your article is written and ready to go, distribute it to as many article directories as you can. It may be a day or two before you begin getting clicks but those clicks will increase as each day passes.
If your budget allows for advertising I'd highly recommend the search engine pay-per-click strategy. PPC advertising can be very effective and can begin bringing in sales almost immediate however unless you are familiar with PPC I'd first recommend getting a hold of Google Cash by Chris Carpenter. You'll get step-by-step instructions on how to setup your Google AdWords campaigns and tons of extra tips for maximizing your ad campaigns.

Hey John,
Well I don’t know about being a genius
but I’ve figured out a few things out. I just want you guys to be able to do some of the same things, and if I can do it, so can you!
Ms. Liz
Liz thanks for simplifying the process. Its your generosity that you share. And when you share goodness, it comes back to you.
Yep, that’s my philosophy, share goodness and goodness comes back to you!
Hi,
Article marketing does work great. The only the only thing that it’s worthwhile pointing out (based on my experience) is that not all of the article sites are particularly good at generating traffic directly. Ezinearticles is great. However the less well known article directories are only useful for generating backinks.
Thanks,
Andy
Good point Andy, not all article sites are created equal. Ezinearticles is really the best I’ve seen, Isnare and goarticles are pretty good as well.
Also you can get a lot of mileage out of your articles by posting them to relevant forums that accept articles. Also creating a lens on Squidoo works well too.
I stumbled across this from the boards at EWealth. I have been trying to write a few articles now and It has been going pretty well. I have found in my case that sticking to something you really know will help with your article writing. If you spend my time researching then writing you are just spinning your wheels.
Hey Mike,
You’re so right, that’s why it’s recommended to start an internet business on something you know and like rather than with something that you think might earn you lots of money, which believe it or not a lot of people do. Although, even with a topic I know, sometimes there can be a little research involved. That’s when I usually outsource my articles. I might pay a little more but it’s a terrific way to get good articles written and it frees me up to do other things. PLR is also a good option but you have to be careful with PLR, there’s a lot of it is junk but you can find a few gems among the weeds.
