Get Indexed on Google with Blog

On this Eve of Christmas Eve, I'd like to extend a very Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope the holidays are all that you hope they will be and that Santa is good to you.

The holidays have been especially busy for me this year as I'm sure they have been for all of you.

I've been trying out new tools and discovering new internet technologies on top of trying to keep up with the holiday rush. It's been exhausting but I'm making lots of progress, and I'm always excited to pass my findings and successes on to you.

My latest venture is Blogging. It seems to be the rage nowadays and I've been compelled to see what all the buzz is about. So I gave it a try. I've done lots of marketing over the past few years and tried lots of things but I think Blogging is really onto something. So far it's still free and I found it to be very easy.

I experimented with my latest site and had some very interesting success. Have a look at my 'Getting Indexed with Google with Blogs' below.

Getting Indexed on Google with Blogs

=======================================================

When I build a new website my biggest goal is to try and get indexed on Google as quickly as possible. That's because my favorite search engine is Google. I believe it's the most used and it's always brought me the highest amount of traffic.

A Google presence requires basically two things:

#1 Optimizing your site for Google to achieve top placement
#2 Getting Indexed

Optimizing your site for top placement is a separate process. I won't be going into that in this article, however stay tuned as I'm going to be publishing an article in my next newsletter covering that process.

Today I'd like to discuss getting indexed within Google and doing it quickly.

You must be indexed before you can achieve placement and it can often take several months. If your site is not currently indexed or waiting several months is just unacceptable here's a trick that can help you get indexed quicker.

It's called blogging. Blogging is free and easy and can help you get indexed with a few days. Here's what Blogging can help you with:

- If you sell something online, create a blog on the topic of your product and include a link to your product site. This will bring you quick indexing and more traffic.

- You can make money directly from your blog - create a blog and add Google Adsense advertising.

- Bring quality links to your site - create a few blogs and link them to your main site. (Google will index the blog quickly and count it as a link into your main site. Plus, you control the link text... important in search engine optimization)

- After building my last website I set up my first blog and had my site successfully indexed within 72 hours! I was amazed and thrilled. The first website I ever built took almost 3 months to get indexed so setting up a blog was a big help for me.

It's incredibly easy. My suggestions for setting one up are below. Just follow the steps and hints and you'll be on your way.

Starting your blog:

Step #1: Go to blogger.com. I found it the most easy to use and set up.

Then 'Create your own blog now' and follow the easy instructions.

Hint: Where it asked for username and password you can use anything that you like. However where it asks for 'Display Name' use your prime keyword phrase. This is the name you use to log in and display comments with and it's helpful to use your main keyword phrase here.

I also suggest using the same prime keyword phrase in the 'Blog Title'. The Blog title is shown in the "title" tag of your HTML and also in large font at the beginning of your Blog page. Pay careful attention to what you title your Blog! It should contain as many keywords and key phrases as you can fit into several words, but still be interesting to your reader.

Step #2:
Choose your template. Click on 'Setting' then 'Basic'. When adding your description use as many keyword phrases as you can. Keep it interesting and make sure "Add your Blog to our listings?" is set to yes.

Also under "Settings", click on "Publishing" and make sure "ping Weblogs.com" is set to yes. Weblogs.com will then know when you update your blog.

Click on "posting" and add a few posts to your blog. Your posts can be articles, ads, quotes, ideas, tips. Anything you feel will add to the quality of your blog.

Step #3
Now you're ready to submit your Blog. I submitted to two blog directories, however submitting to more can't hurt. The two I used were:

http://www.blogwise.com/
http://www.blogarama.com

Submitting to these directories will help you pick up links, and the more links you establish, the better.

That's it! You're done.

To find out if your site has been indexed by Google you will need to download the Google toolbar. You can download it from here:
http://toolbar.google.com/

Once downloaded locate the 'pagerank' on the toolbar. Directly next to 'pagerank' there is a white 'i' in a blue circle. Left click on the 'i', then click on 'cached snapshot of page'. If it tells you that it cannot find the page, then it has not been indexed.

Final thoughts.
Be sure to keep your blog updated. Find articles that you can display or display your own articles. Special offerings can be added as well.  Include quotes or links to other sites you may have. The key is to keep it updated and keep it fresh.

I also suggest that if you have a Google Adsense account, publish your adsense ads on your blog. Google favors seeing those ads on your sites. It's not only favored by Google it may help you earn some extra income.

Give it a try and Happy Blogging!

--- Google Suggest Beta Tool ---
======================================================

Google's done it again! They've come up with a new tool that's still in the experimentation phase but a powerful tool nonetheless.

The Google's Suggest Beta tool completes words in a drop-down list that shows ten possible and or likely ways to complete any word you begin to type in the search box, it also shows beside each of those possible word combinations how many times that option is searched at Google!

A powerful tool indeed if you need help with keywords and keyword suggestions. Have a look and see if it can help you with finding the appropriate keywords for your site.
