A Trick for how to Stop Spam
One of the big annoyances with online
marketing and owning an online business is the amount
of email that can build up in your email box. I
probably get 20% real information and 80% spam
that I can't seem to rid myself of.
As many of you, I've spent many hours
just sifting through email, struggling to get off
lists and deleting spam. What a time waster!
If you're not careful, you
can overwhelm yourself with more newsletter
lists, tips of the day, or expert opinions than you
can handle. And of course there's always the
unscrupulous business owner that sells your email
address and 'voila' you've been spammed. Well
ridding myself of those nasty spammers I've devised a
way to find out who they are and get off their list
fast.
Here's a trick that I use to stop
spam. First, find your favorite experts,
newsletters, mini-course, affiliate programs, or whatever you
wish to continue subscribing to and set up separate
email account for each one. What I mean here is NOT
create a separate 'folder' in your main mailbox, create a
separate email account.
Note: This works
best with hosting companies that offer
unlimited email
accounts. For example, let's say you want to sign up for
the widgetworld newsletter.
First, create an email account called widgetworld@youremail.com or widgetworld@yahoo.com
Use a name that signifies what you are subscribing
to.
The rule of thumb is that any time you are ready to give
out your email address, first create a separate email
account for whatever you are signing up for.
You can also use this method for free
email such as yahoo, msn or others. It may cost
you a bit more for hosts that charge for additional
email accounts but it's often worth it in the long
run.
Note: If you're
looking for a hosting
company it's a very good idea to get one with unlimited
email accounts.
The biggest benefit here is that if, at
any time, you start getting spam to that email
address, you can drop them like a hot potato. Delete
that email account and you won't be bothered by them
again.
Granted this requires setting up
several email lists but you'll not only be better
organized, you'll cut down on spam and you won't feel
so overwhelmed.
Also, if someone is spamming you or they have sold the
email address you gave them, you'll know exactly who they
are and you'll know they're not someone you want to
continue to deal with.
If you do happen to get overwhelmed
simply reduce the amount of things you subscribe to.
That's easily done by just deleting the email
address.
Using these email tricks won't
completely eliminate spam in your mailbox but it has
helped me save a few extra minutes a day reading
useless email.

A
'Cool' Decision Making
Tool
==================================================
Here's a new tool you can get your arms
around.
I've used this new tool for a few
decisions I'm trying to make, both business and
personal and believe it or not, it actually did
help me make a decision.
For me this is a "good thing"
as I'm not a very speedy decision maker. I've
been known to dilly dally for days and it's probably
due to not really knowing how to go through the
decision making process.
If this also sounds like you, help is
on the way!
Ken Envoy, of Site Build It! has come
to the rescue once again with his intuitive free
'Choose It!' Tool.
People have used Choose It! to..
o decide
important business decisions
o select
career paths for their adult children
o decide
upon vacation destinations
o decide
what TV programs to watch!
Try the decision maker for
yourself. It doesn't cost anything and it comes in
pretty handy.
